Walking in the Light of Christ

Walking in the Light of Christ means to me that believing in Christ is like a big lamp that lights and guides my path through life.  God is my lantern.

Welcome to Kindergarten - Happening at a School Near You!

The Kenora Catholic District School Board is partnering with the Learning Partnership once again to offer our Welcome to Kindergarten program at each of our elementary schools.  Our Welcome to Kindergarten programs are designed to prepare children for kindergarten in the fall.  These programs are interactive, fun and help children build confidence and skills for school.  There will be lots of amazing resources provided to all participants.  Our events will be hosted at the following locations:

May 16                 St. John’s  at 5:30pm

May 17                 St. Louis at 6:00pm

May 23                 École Ste-Margeurite Bourgeoys at 5:30 pm

May 30                 Pope John Paul II School at 5:30pm

Welcome to Kindergarten is for families who have a child who is registered for JK in the fall 2012.

The Learning Partnership’s Welcome to Kindergarten (WTK) program was developed to provide pre-kindergarten children and their families with the early learning resources and experiences that can build a foundation for learning and a smooth transition to school.  At the Welcome to Kindergarten program, the families participate in activities using books, magnetic numbers and letters, playdough, and crayons/paper/scissors. Families meet school principals, kindergarten teachers, school resource personnel, and staff from community support agencies. During the orientation activities, these educators provide training on why and how family planned activity using the resources in the take-home Welcome to Kindergarten resource bag will help their children be better prepared for school and learning.  Before leaving the orientation, every family receives the Welcome to Kindergarten resource bag of early learning resources and the parent information page.
