About Our School
St. Louis is a small catholic elementary school in an area referred to as Keewatin in the city of Kenora. The school is situated in a quiet residential area and in close proximity to St. Louis parish church. Our population is drawn from the rural areas north and west of Kenora and the previous township of Keewatin. The school received a major renovation in 1987 when 2 new classes, gymnasium and office area were added. This school is well founded in the history of the town dating back to when it was administered by the nuns.
About Our Parents and Community
Ours is a very supportive and positive community. The school is closely tied with the parish church where we celebrate mass together on the first Friday of every month. We have a large number of parents who take on many tasks in the school. The school council is very active and supportive of our school. The parents fundraise for special projects for the school such as books for the library, prizes for special events and financial support for our musicals.
About Our Staff
The staff works in unison to enrich school life at St. Louis School. From the classrooms, to the gym, outdoor education, cross-country skiing, play day or track and field they expand our student's experience. They bring many years of experience to their challenge of instruction, inspiring, motivating and leading young people. Co-operation among the staff makes for a very pleasant working environment. Much laughter is heard on a daily basis. The students emulate this positive attitude. Each staff brings a special skill and talent that extends our students' experience.

About Our Students
The school accommodates 160 students from JK to grade six. We are an English track school with French taught as a second language. Several of our classes have split grades, which accommodate our lower numbers. Our school is a safe and friendly place. "People care about each other." "Everyone joins in, and that is what I like about this school." Our school musicals are the highlight of our year. The whole school becomes involved and all students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6 actively participate.
