JK Registration 2012/13 School Year
We are now taking applications for Junior Kindergarten Registration for the 2012-2013 school year.
Please stop by our office to pick up a registration package at your earliest convenience. Packages are not available on-line. Please remember to include one of the four Proof of Birth options along with your child's most recent Immunization Record and a copy of the health card. By mid to late April, we will call all parents and let them know as to availablity/acceptance in our program.
JK Information Evening
On Tuesday, February 7, 2012, there will be an information evening for parents. There is a small presentation as well as an opportunity to tour the school and meet the JK teachers. (Please note that babysitting will be available for school aged children if need be.) Please note that there is no obligation to attend this meeting and if you are unable to come, we can make arrangements to tour the school and ask questions of our principal or vice-principal at a mutually convenient time. Please call the school to arrange an appointment at 468-6618.
JK General Information
Once your child is accepted into the Junior Kindergarten program, École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys schedules in-school visits in September for all children, and you as parents or guardians, for approximately 30 minutes to provide each student with a more personal introduction to school and routines. Once the in-school visits have been completed, the Junior Kindergarten students will attend their first day of school on a staggered schedule later in September. This “gentle entry” will enable your child to adjust to the Junior Kindergarten experience before they attend in the larger group setting. You will be notified by letter early in July of the date your child will attend his or her first day of school as well as a date the children will begin a regular schedule.
Some notes to remember:
Junior Kindergarten students attend school every Tuesday and Thursday for a full day and our Senior Kindergarten students attend every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a full day.

For information on your child's bussing service, please contact the Northwestern Ontario Student Services Consortium at 1-866-860-7770. They also have extensive information available on their website at www.nwobus.ca.

If you have requested transportation for your child, you will be notified by the bussing consortium over the summer outlining the pick-up and drop-off locations and time the bus will arrive.
Current Junior and Senior Kindergarten students do not have to re-register as it is assumed that they are continuing with our school already.
