COVID-19 ADVISORIES

COVID-19 ADVISORIES
Posted on 02/22/2021
covid-19 ADVISORIESParents, students and staff have an understandable interest in knowing when a COVID-19 positive case has been identified in their school.

In alignment with the Ministry of Education guidelines, this page will be updated on a continuous basis with information concerning confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving a student or a staff member at the Kenora Catholic District School Board.

It is important to note that a confirmed case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school. The individual may have been exposed elsewhere in the community.

If public health orders that a class, cohort or school should be closed for a period of time, parents/guardians, students and staff will be notified immediately. Notice of any closures of classes, cohorts or schools will also be posted on this page.

An outbreak is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired the infection in the school (including transportation and before and after school care).

For reasons of privacy, we will minimize sharing personal information about any case and will direct others to avoid identifying individuals.

UPDATE - ST. LOUIS LIVING ARTS SCHOOL CLASS APPROVED TO REOPEN

(Kenora, March 9, 2021)
– Under the Northwestern Health Unit's direction, we are pleased to reopen the impacted class at St. Louis Living Arts School effective Tuesday, March 9, 2021, and welcome our students back to school for in-person learning. With the reopening of the class at St. Louis School Living Arts School, the Kenora Catholic District School Board currently has no active COVID-19 advisories, and all classes and schools are open for in-person learning.

Everyone must continue using the Ontario online school screening tool before attending school each day and follow all COVID-19 health and safety prevention strategies.

Thank you to our families, students, and staff at St. Louis Living Arts School for your support and partnership. As we have since the beginning, we are committed to putting everyone's health and safety first as we continue to follow public health guidelines to keep our schools open and safe for student learning.
