At the September 17 Board Meeting, Student Trustees Benjamin Favreau and Javan were formally commissioned through a meaningful prayer service led by Director of Education Nicole Kurtz and Leanne Chisholm, Religious Education and Family Life Coordinator. The Rite of Commissioning Ceremony highlighted the Student Trustees' commitment to serving their school and spiritual community with leadership grounded in Catholic values.
During the ceremony, Benjamin and Javan, holding lit candles, were asked if they were willing to be joyful messengers of God's compassion and forgiveness, to which they responded, "Yes, I am!" They also pledged to continue growing in faith and nurturing their spiritual practices, affirming their belief in the importance of Catholic education as a space where faith and spirituality are lived and supported.
The Board of Trustees joined in the ceremony, promising to support the Student Trustees in their roles and encouraging them as they lead their peers.
