November 17 to 23, 2024, marks Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week. This is an important opportunity for our community—students, parents, guardians, and educators—to come together to create safe, inclusive, and respectful school environments.
The Ministry of Education has developed a guide titled “
Bullying: We Can All Help Stop It” to provide practical information about bullying and ways to support children who may be affected. It is also available in multiple languages, including Arabic, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi, and Punjabi, at
ontario.ca/StopBullying.
Kenora Catholic District School Board is committed to ensuring our schools are welcoming spaces where everyone feels safe and respected. Schools address bullying through our
Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan and
Ontario's Creating safe and accepting schools: addressing inappropriate behaivour.
Actions can include:
- Conversations with students to understand and correct behaviours
- A review of behavioural expectations
- Counselling support from a social worker
