
It is with great joy that the Kenora Catholic District School Board shares the wonderful news that His Holiness Pope Francis has named Father Alan Campeau as Bishop of the Diocese of Thunder Bay. This is a momentous occasion and a reflection of Bishop-elect Campeau’s unwavering commitment to faith and service.
Many in our community will remember Bishop-elect Campeau’s impactful time ministering in the region. From 1999 to 2005, he served as Pastor of Notre Dame Parish in Kenora, Sacred Heart Parish in Sioux Narrows, and Our Lady of the Lake in Nestor Falls. His ministry extended to the missions in Reditt, Grassy Narrows First Nation Reserve, and White Dog First Nation Reserve, where he brought faith, hope, and support to countless individuals and families.

On behalf of the entire KCDSB community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bishop-elect Campeau on this incredible appointment. Having served as pastor of Notre Dame Parish in Kenora, he remains a cherished and familiar figure to so many of us. His compassion, leadership, and unwavering dedication to faith and service inspire great excitement and hope for this new chapter in his ministry.
