Celebrating the 2025 Director’s Awards of Excellence
Each June, schools across the Kenora Catholic District School Board celebrate the achievements of students through a variety of special recognitions and awards. Among these, the Director’s Award of Excellence stands out as a long-standing tradition that honours one exceptional student at each school.
The award celebrates students who demonstrate a well-rounded commitment to learning and growth—excelling in areas such as academics, the arts, or athletics—while also embodying the Catholic Graduate Expectations. Recipients are recognised for their kindness, empathy, leadership, and dedication to making their school community a better place.
Throughout the month of June, the 2025 recipients were honoured during school-wide celebrations, surrounded by their peers, staff, and families.
“The Director’s Award of Excellence recognizes students who lead with integrity, compassion, and quiet determination,” said Nicole Kurtz, Director of Education. “This is one of my favourite times of the year—getting to visit our schools, meet students and families, and celebrate the incredible young people who inspire us all.”
