It was an unforgettable day at St. John Paul II School as students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 welcomed special guests from the True North Foundation, Jets Alumni and Friends, and Mick E. Moose!

As part of a partnership with the Community Foundation and Triple Play’s Rally for Children’s Mental Health, students took part in an inspiring presentation focused on the importance of mental wellness. The Jets Alumni shared personal stories, encouraged students to take care of their mental health, and talked about healthy strategies for managing stress and emotions.

The visit wrapped up with an energetic floor hockey game, and our students brought their A-game, taking home the win against the Jets! The gym was full of excitement as students cheered on their classmates, waved signs, and celebrated every goal.

This event was a wonderful way to connect fun and physical activity with the ongoing message of mental wellness, something that’s been a cornerstone at St. John Paul II School. Our school was the first in Ontario to implement Project 11, a proactive mental wellness education program that helps students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 build emotional awareness, resilience, and healthy coping strategies.
