Steady leadership and strong partnerships highlighted at Annual Board Meeting

The Kenora Catholic District School Board is pleased to share that Teresa Gallik and Paul Landry have been acclaimed as Chair and Vice Chair at the Annual Board Meeting held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Their acclamation reflects the Board’s confidence in their steady leadership, their commitment to Catholic education, and their ongoing dedication to students, staff, and families.

Upon her acclamation, Chair Teresa Gallik expressed her appreciation to trustees and spoke about the shared purpose that guides the Board’s work.

“I am grateful for your confidence in me and the opportunity to serve once again as Chair,” she shared. “Together, we have faced challenges, made important decisions, and celebrated successes, always keeping our students, our staff, our faith, and our communities at the centre of what we do. I look forward to continuing this work with a strong board, a strong leadership team, and a shared purpose.”

Greetings from School and Union Partners

During the meeting, greetings were also brought forward from school and union representatives.

Speaking on behalf of the Kenora Catholic principals and vice principals, Hilary Aitken extended warm congratulations to the acclaimed Chair and Vice Chair. She described their acclamation as “a well-deserved affirmation of the steady leadership Teresa and Paul bring to our Board.”

Hilary reflected on the Catholic Education Week theme Pilgrims of Hope as she spoke, noting how well it fits the trustees’ work. “As pilgrims of hope, you guide our system with faith, courage, and care, often doing the hard work quietly and without recognition,” she said. “Our principals see the impact of your commitment every day, and we are grateful to walk alongside you in service to our students and staff.”

Greetings were also shared on behalf of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association by Darlene Literovich. She congratulated the Board and reaffirmed OECTA’s strong partnership with KCDSB. “We value our collaborative relationship and remain committed to working together to support high-quality Catholic education,” she said. “We wish the Chair and Vice Chair continued success as they begin their new term.”

Teresa Gallik continues her leadership as Chair, while Paul Landry begins another term as Vice Chair.

The Board extends its appreciation to all trustees for their continued service and their commitment to fostering welcoming, faith-filled learning environments where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
