The KCDSB Mental Health Team is continuing its Tea with the Team parent series this February with a timely and informative session focused on helping families navigate technology use at home.
The upcoming session, “Digital Detox - Rewiring Brains in the Age of Technology,” will take place on February 26, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will be held online through Microsoft Teams, allowing parents and caregivers to participate from the comfort of their homes.
Designed for families with children of all ages, this session will explore how screen use and digital technology can impact brain chemistry, behaviour, and overall well-being. Participants will watch a 45-minute prerecorded webinar presented by an expert in the field.
The session aims to provide families with science-backed strategies and practical tools to help create healthier technology habits at home. Parents are encouraged to grab a cup of tea, log in, and join the conversation - cameras can be on or off to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone.
Tea with the Team is a monthly series created to support parents and caregivers with practical insights and resources based on common questions and emerging needs seen across KCDSB schools. Each session offers a safe and supportive space for learning, reflection, and connection within the school community.
Parents and caregivers interested in attending are asked to register in advance to receive the session link and accompanying resources.
For more information or questions, families can contact Sue Devlin at [email protected]. The Mental Health Team also welcomes suggestions for future parent night topics.
Registration is available online. Families are encouraged to sign up and join the conversation as we continue learning and growing together.
