Teachers and StudentsKenora Safe Graduation Community Presentation

Jodi Jenner, Ontario Provincial Police Constable and Safe Grad Committee Member, provided a presentation on Kenora's Safe Grad Community event. Safe Grad is a community-wide event, hosted by volunteers and has been happening in Kenora for over 15 years. The event is open to all graduates in the community and is an alcohol-free, fun, safe event for students on the night of graduation. In June 2018, 94 of 164 graduates attended the celebration.

Grace Dunford shared that the aim of the committee this year is to improve communication with the graduating students by attending meetings and finding out what the graduates want to see at the event.

Jenner requested the board's assistance in supporting the Kenora Safe Graduation event by being cheerleaders and supporters of the event. Jenner also requested that a $50 fee be added to the graduation fee for students to encourage raffle ticket sales that support fundraising efforts for the Safe Graduation Committee.
