The final KCDSB Family Ski Night at Mount Evergreen Ski Club wrapped up last night, bringing together families from St. Louis, SMB, and SJP for an evening of winter fun, fresh air, and community connection.

Over the past three ski nights, students, parents, and school staff embraced the winter weather, staying active and strengthening the bonds between schools.

"It’s been such a great opportunity to get families together from all three KCDSB elementary schools in Kenora!" said Grace Dunford, Co-Chair of the SJPII Parent Council. "Nothing beats getting outside, staying active, and enjoying this winter weather together. A perfect way to reinforce the sense of community between our schools, especially for those Grade 6 students off to St. Thomas Aquinas next year."

These events were made possible by the tireless efforts of Parent Council members, who dedicate their time throughout the year to fundraising and organizing special experiences for families.

A huge thank you to Mount Evergreen for being such incredible hosts and to our door prize sponsors:

For many, nights like these bring back cherished memories of time spent on the slopes.

"Growing up, the local ski hill was a huge part of my childhood—some of my best memories are with friends on the slopes," Dunford added. "I hope we can help grow that sense of love and excitement for snow instead of dread. Mount Evergreen does an incredible job creating a welcoming space for families, and I’m so glad our parent councils came together to help make this experience possible for everyone."

Thank you to all the families who joined us for three unforgettable evenings! We can't wait to do it again next year.
