St. Thomas Aquinas High School opened its doors this week to past students, teachers, staff, and trustees for a special celebration marking 30 Years of Building Excellence. The foyer was filled with hugs, laughter, heartfelt reunions, and countless memories as members of the school community gathered to reflect on the legacy of STAHS and the many lives it has touched over the decades.

For Athletic Director Megan Derouard, the event was especially meaningful:

“It was such a full-circle moment to see Mr. Robertson, who supervised my Co-Op placement at STAHS when I was in high school,” she shared. “This school has shaped so many of us—not just as students, but as people.”

Among the many alumni, former staff, and past trustees in attendance were Mayor Andrew Poirier, Councilors Barb Canfield, and Lisa Moncrief, highlighting the deep connections STAHS holds within the broader Kenora community.

Whether walking the halls for the first time in years or reminiscing over old photos, guests left with full hearts and fond memories. It was a powerful reminder that once you're part of the Saints Family, you're always part of it.

The Kenora Catholic District School Board is proud to celebrate this incredible milestone with the STAHS community. Here's to the past 30 years—and to many more years of excellence, connection, and community spirit.
