Thanks to the generous support of our students, staff and families, the KCDSB was able to raise $1,856.07 for relief efforts for Ukraine.
THANK YOU!

The Kenora Catholic District School Board (KCDSB) values the heritage, history and traditions of its diverse population of staff, students and families. As you know, an unjust war is being waged against the people of Ukraine that has brought tragic consequences to its civilian population.

The KCDSB remains committed to providing emotional and mental health supports for students at this very difficult time. We also recognize that the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations encourage students to strive to become “caring family members who attend to family, school, parish and the wider community” and “responsible citizens who give witness to Catholic school teachings by promoting peace, justice and the sacredness of human life.”

With this in mind, the KCDSB will be joining other Catholic school boards and partners in education to #StandWithUkraine Blue and Yellow Day on Thursday, March 10, 2022:

WHEN:  Thursday, March 10

WHERE: All Kenora Catholic Schools

WHAT:   #StandWithUkraine - Wear Blue and Yellow
and, where possible, donate a Toonie

On this day, students, staff and families are encouraged to wear blue and yellow clothing and, where possible, donate a toonie to their school which will be donated to the “Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal” managed by the Canadian Ukraine Foundation that supplies aid to Ukraine.

We are grateful for the continued support of our schools, staff and students and recognize the vital role everyone plays in helping us realize our mission and vision. Thank you for joining the KCDSB in recognizing “#StandWithUkraine Blue and Yellow Day” at your school on March 10, 2022, as we continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all those impacted by these recent events.

"Let us ask the Lord to grant that all may grow in the spirit of brotherhood, and that all hurts, fears and divisions will be overcome.

We have spoken about the Holocaust. But let us think too that in Ukraine millions of people were killed [1932-1933].

They are a people who have suffered; they have suffered from hunger, suffered from much brutality and they deserve peace.

May the prayers and supplications that today rise up to heaven touch the minds and hearts of world leaders, so that dialogue may prevail and the common good be placed ahead of partisan interests.

Please, no more war.
Amen" - Pope Francis
