The First Nation, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Graduation Coach at St. Thomas Aquinas High School provides First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students’ academic, social, and emotional supports to help improve their chances to graduate. Collaborating with parents/guardians, education counselors, school staff and community partners, the FNMI Graduation Coach will work to build relationships within and beyond the school to identify and eliminate potential barriers that may be prohibiting our FNMI students from reaching their full potential.
Students and parents/guardians will have direct access to the FNMI Graduation Coach, and a designated safe space located within St. Thomas Aquinas High School to meet with the coach or to gather with classmates. It is also a space where students will be able to seek academic support, work quietly by themselves, collaborate with other classmates, have access to food and drinks, request cultural support and guidance, and work together to problem-solve issues or challenges.
